OBJECTIVES

The 2021 Louisville Slugger BBCOR lineup was created to deliver a complete performance family that could serve every hitter profile, from power sluggers to precision contact players. The objective was to reinforce Louisville Slugger’s leadership in the highly competitive BBCOR market by combining cutting-edge technology with a bold, unified design language. Each model needed to stand on its own with a clear performance identity while feeling part of a greater system that strengthened brand equity and player confidence.

SOLUTION

I developed the design strategy around the concept of CORE POWER, a visual and performance philosophy inspired by the structure of the spine, symbolizing strength, balance, and connection. This concept guided not only the graphic language but also how the bats communicated their unique roles within the lineup. To make each franchise instantly recognizable, I designed original fonts and typography systems that became distinctive icons for META, SELECT, SOLO, and OMAHA.

  • META embodied the flagship of innovation, with a futuristic design and powerful spine-inspired geometry that positioned it as the symbol of cutting-edge composite performance.
  • SELECT balanced alloy and composite, expressed through a hybrid aesthetic that communicated both strength and adaptability.
  • SOLO carried a lightweight, precision-driven identity, designed with sleek lines that reflected speed and control.
  • OMAHA remained the anchor of tradition, with a classic, heritage-driven design that reinforced its reliability and toughness.

Through CORE POWER, the entire lineup shared a unified DNA, yet each model’s original font and graphic identity created clear differentiation. The result was a visually cohesive yet versatile family, making it easier for athletes to connect with the bat that matched their swing style while recognizing the strength of the Louisville Slugger system.
