GOLF BAG - EXO LITE
OJECTIVES

Existing Wilson carry bags were seen as too large and heavy for the modern golfer. Our goal was to create a lighter, more compact bag that meets the expectations of today’s walking players, those who seek both functionality and refined aesthetics. The design needed to be sleek, minimal, and timeless, balancing practicality with a premium, performance-driven presence that fits Wilson’s modern identity.

SOLUTION

I came up with the concept and design direction for the EXO Lite, focusing on a structure that embodies both lightness and strength. The name “EXO” reflects the exoskeletal framework that supports and protects while remaining minimal and efficient. I designed the bag’s frame geometry, pocket organization, and strap balance to achieve intuitive usability and effortless carry. The color palette was inspired by the natural tones of the golf course, earth, sand, and turf, creating harmony with the environment while emphasizing simplicity and sophistication. The result is a carry bag that feels like an extension of the game itself: pure, efficient, and enduringly modern.

RESULT

The EXO Lite became one of Wilson’s most celebrated carry bags, redefining expectations for performance and aesthetics in the lightweight segment.

  • 30% lighter than previous Wilson carry models while maintaining premium durability.
  • Delivered +45% sell-through growth within the first six months post-launch.• Achieved top-3 ranking in lightweight carry bag category at major golf retailers.
  • Resulted in the EXO Lite being named “Best Golf Bag 2023” by Golf Digest.
  • Drove +25% increase in social engagement and strong positive sentiment around “mobility” and “design.”
  • Reinforced Wilson’s image as a modern, performance-driven brand that unites innovation, craft, and timeless design.
